PPP6 and some views on contributions

For those who have access to Anthony Yung's ftp, you'll most probably know about some ppp6 videos and some other vids are being uploaded there by Dom (gcmoffmoorex) and Groundbreaker. Well if you dunno about it, PM me and I'll give you details on how to have access to his ftp (since one of his rules disallow me from spamming the ftp. So i wun post it here.)

Anyway it got me thinking. HOW MANY VIDEOS HAVE SINGAPOREAN CONTRIBUTED TO OTHERS?
Ok I dun mean you send to your friend.. or send to people u know. I mean SHARING with the GENERAL PUBLIC.

People in America who have less paralists in singapore and not to say less resources then us are sharing their stuff. Shouldn't we be ashame of ourself that we'll contributing so little.. or rather nothing?
Of course I'm implying that to myself too as I myself didn't do much but then again, I dun have the resources that is not already up (e.g ppp6, misc clips). and I'm on a pentium 200 2.1gb hdd on a 56k modem. So it's very tough for me even if I have the resources to share among the general public. I'm planning to get a better system and upgrading to a broadband and try means to share the vids around but for the time being, the most I can do for the para society is to keep a lookout for whatever is there on the net and sharing the info I got with you people (that is if you read this section of the forum.) I just wish that people with the ability to share share and those who doesn't just spread the words around or maybe help out abit by sharing those *secrets* that you may intend to keep and dun wanna share.

I really am ashame of the local scene in terms of contribution and hopefully, we'll see a change in the attitude of our scene. Jaa ne.

Elva, to be fair to the local scene, not every has the capability to share. Apart from hardware incapability that you mentioned, I feel that the US situation and ours is different in some cases like they would just do by any means to import DVDs and convert them respectively to share - does that make our local people "not wanting to share"?

I know for these past few weeks 'sharing' has come under huge scrutiny (wonder if I spelt that correctly) but to be fair, the US paralists did their bit to share and promote Para Para, I believe we too have our means to contribute in a different way, for example the SPPV.

It is by all means everyone's wish to see more Para Para, but sometimes we must think of our capabilities before trying to compare with others - it's just a lil unfair sometimes.

To say the least, we really have a lot to thank for with respect to non-local paralists (US, HK, JP) so there!

its all good elva. but i would like to see more vids from the parapara bash you guys had recently. i only have two vids that luke gave me. thanks again. ^_^ really good. im very happy to see them make up there own special performance. ^_^ also solo vids of you guys just dancing would be fine.

OK... It's time for me to go controversial again... seems like that's my role in this forum... *LOL*

I was thinking, it's all very fine if you guys are able to upload files of the Para Para videos... but I always feel that 'is this really a healthy thing?' Allow me to talk from personal experience... when news of PPP6 is due to be released I was really looking forward to it. I was praying day and night that it would be a wonderful video. Yet before it's even released in Singapore, I see everyone else doing every dance already. It's fine if you have gotten the video thru mail order or something, but when I ask my mates they all told me that they downloaded it off the net... imagine how my face turned black. I mean, why? I know the eagerness is there to learn some new dances, but to go to the extent to download the entire video onto your HDD really takes some beating. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but think about this. PPA makes a living from their appearances at velfarre, photoshoots on magazines, and most important of all, doing the videos. And when we have downloaded all the vids, we can conveniently burn them onto a cd-rom and voila, we have the latest PPP series video, and we don't even need to buy. And then PPA couldn't earn enough and Avex starts to neglect them. End-state? No more ParaParaParadise Series video. Now is that exciting.

Of course all of us are going to say we're going to buy the video when it's released. But hey, talk is cheap, man. So I feel rather than contributing clips that we are going to see sooner or later, why don't we contribute something that we DON'T get to see on the PPP Series of videos? Like Derick and co... you guys have got some decent vids and it's great you all share it around, but how about doing clips on songs that we hardly ever hear (eg Rina Aiuchi's Koi wa Thrill, Shock, Suspense, Ace's Don't Go)? I think that'd probably be more meaningful.

Of course it's all my personal opinion.

well, though i have most of the ppp6 video, i will still buy the VCD when it comes on sale...... the first ppp series i bought is ppp5. but then i still bought ppp1 to ppp4. if avex has released all ppp series in every country at the same time,  then the fastest way to get hold on the new dance steps will be to buy them, rather than d/l them rite?

well, as far as i'm concern, i will buy all ppp series. i have even thought of buying the DVD series. since s'pore doesn't sells them, and i have to get to the websites to ship them here, i guess i will continue to buy VCD version........
