This idea has been in me head for a while. I was thinking of setting up this www.sgparapara.org thingy that would be THE place for us Singapore paralists. Yeah, we already have the wonderful site by Luke - but with our own site we'd probably can do a bit more, for example, hosting ParaPara instructional video clips, mp3s of our mixes, blah blah blah. My opinion is that it could be a combination of Luke's site, the EP site, the NP site, and all the other related sites. I've found this dslglobal.net which I think is reasonable for its hosting. Seriously on my part I'm willing to fork out that bit of pocket money to do something worthwhile. What d'ya think?

hey kc.... do you think www.paraparasg.com sounds nicer? or maybe www.parapara.com.sg even? Not sure about what they offer you though... was it the company you told me about, where they accept payments in Singapore Dollars?

KC ah, by the time you asked, my neck already longĀ² liao. I already asked some of the community and they agreed to sponsor a little for this huge effort made for Para Para in Singapore. Darren, dslglobal is based in Singapore and US so you needn't have to worry. The domain name is something of discuss though - firstly I would instinctively suggest .net or .org and NOT .com as we are not doing businesses. Secondly, a .sg is optional as people can probably remember a .net or .org at the back for foreign parties, though of cos wif .sg it will prove our identity but WAIT - we can't get a .sg because we are not a business. Read up on www.nic.net.sg/ under .sg domains. And as read, we can at most only obtain a .org, that is if we register a non-profit club/society. I'm not sure whether we can register a pure .org but certainly we can't register a .org.sg without registering into the Registry of Clubs and Societies. Plenty of things to think about eh?

Is getting people to put ads in your page a type of business? If not, you can do that and earn some quick cash.

I agree. A no-ad site is best, but you CAN earn some quick cash with people paying given that your content is good.
