below is the letter that was sent to various committee members as well as NYC not long ago, and it is my duty to inform all the members of PPSG officially about the withdrawal.
i would like to take this oppotunity to thank each and everyone of you members -- all the Paralists of Singapore for the unconditional support you all have give me. i thank you from the bottom of my heart, and hope to para para with you all some day, any day, anywhere.
Hello everyone,
On behalf of Tang Kin Ching and myself, I'm an writing a letter to officially state the withdrawal of the both of us from Para Para Singapore.
Kin Ching is currently having problems with his university studies at NUS, having grades with recent papers below expectation. With studies and extra-curricular activities to juggle, he could not make further commitments at this point of time.
Personally I am preparing for further education overseas. Even closer is my army's overseas exercise happening in December. As a result I'm having a tight schedule to meet both my University deadlines due to the heavy commitment I'm now having in the army. After all, it would be a matter of time before I step down from the committee to pursue my degree. Henceforth both Kin Ching and I would be leaving the post of Vice-Chairman and Events and Social Exec. respectively from this day on.
As Stephen is still the Chairman under Youthop!a's Para Para Singapore, feel free to direct any enquiries to him or to the rest of the committee members (emails available above). NYC and Youthop!a have seen the setting up of Para Para Singapore with the leadership of Stephen as the Chairman of the committee. He is the core committee member of Youthop!a Interest Group, and can be seen around all major Para Para Dance events. We thank him for having the oppotunity to work with him. We will hand over any outstanding projects to the committee, and would like to take this time to thank them as well. Last but not least we would like to thank the National Youth Council, Youthop!a and esp. Ms Jan Tan for giving us such strong support throughout our tour of duty. I myself really appreciate the co-operation we had between us and Jan. Thank you!
As such, I conclude the letter of withdrawal, and would officially inform the members of PPSG accordingly.
Yours Sincerely, Yin Shanqing (SQ) 04-Oct-2002

i could go on and on to thank each and everyone of you, but sorry too lazy haha. but anywayz ...
NoS, Diana: probably the big brother and sister of the local para scene. after all it is through para para that you 2 knew each other. sorry didnt manage to do up the SPPV like i said, but once this period is over i'll help you with the even better SPPV 2, so make sure you put in all you've got.
Victor: MUST commend on your enthusiasism for para para. besides luke i really cant see anyone else besides you who goes all out to learn every para dance steps in the world. i salute you.
Europura, lead by Rachel: how to forget, the group of friends who form up a team called EP and since then been actively involving themselves in the local para scene and giving me full support. probably can name most of you by now too. hope to work with you sometime soon. thank you!
there are many many others whom i failed to get to know better. people who usually seen with Victor dancing para para together and all. really sorry for distancing ourselves. but still we can dance para para anytime anywhere, just update me a.s.a.p. and i'll be there (ok lah i try lah can). there's also friends like yingting and 'puppy' who althou' have other personal committments, showed support for PPSG nonetheless. thank you.
said enough, gotta go study for exams happening 7 days from now. Ja~

In a sense SQ has already said what I wanted to say as well. Really thank all of you for the support that you all have given me for the past couple of months, without which i don't think I can even have the zest to power myself on. In any case, all things must come to an end, and while I admit that Para Para is still something I treasure very much, I have my own studies to handle as well. University life is a whole new ball game compared to your secondary school or JC or poly, so it has to be played differently, and I feel that I need to focus more on that.
Whatever it is, I need to stress that I've not turned my back on Para Para, it's just that I'll be involved in some other ways. Hope that things can still go on well and all of us can continue to enjoy this thing called Para Para.

On behalf of the team at Nostalgic Productions, I would like to say that your withdrawal will indeed mark a major loss in the local para community, but on the other hand, it shows that we'll have to press on harder to make the next para boom possible, perhaps by then KC and SQ are ready to make a come back to the local para scene? This make me wonder about something, I was wondering if anyone can answer my question. Perhaps KC or SQ can shed some light on this? What is left of PPSG? If I didn't get my info wrong, Darren is due for army soon and Luke has his own hands full with army. All the PPSG members I know off are officially "dead" (pardon the expression). The question is, who will lead the remaining paralists? Who would have the contacts as KC and SQ did that can step up to the job? For example, I can always try to fill in their jobs (I have the spare time) but I do not have the contacts they do. I don't really want to sound like an ass, but is the local para scene going to be left hanging out to dry or perhaps KC or SQ have already left us a parting gift? In any case, SQ, you have my fullest support in continuing your studies abroad (the best choice one can make, considering you either end up mad or as clueless as you were before entering any U in Singapore, no offence KC) Yes you can say I'm against the education in Singapore and I can say I will be one of the "deserters" our Prime Minister mentioned. I'm out of Singapore as soon as I have the resources to do so =D But getting back to topic, it would also be selfish of the Local para scene to keep KC in the group regardless what, as his studies remain more important and of higher regard. Go for that degree KC, and show that Singaporeans aren't as dull as they seem to be. Last but not least, I know the two of you will chrerish the memories of being a paralist, being a member of PPSG and of course having loads of fun in the process. But yet, the question remains, what is going to happen next? NYC3? No more competitions? The end of the first generation of Para in Singapore? I doubt so, as long as groups like OPX, EP and NP live on. You will be missed... Wong Yew Yeng William CEO, Nostalgic Productions www.nostalgic-productions.net/PS: ( The link isn't working yet lol)

haiz, what a sad piece of news i got when i just entered here. I think we should make use of what is left to continue the local scene, we should not believe all is lost after the departure of this 2 well known figures, after all everyone plays a part right? I really don't know what to say at this moment, let me get over my feelings ...

Well, it's still not over.
I'm sorry to say there won't be much of a big event this end-year for the public. But please be patient. I'm waiting to cash in on the up-coming documentary we did on Para Para to wake the public up on their idea 'bout Para Para. From there it'll be easier to seek sponsorships.
'Til then, I've a good mind to organise something for you all (after my exams before I leave for New Zealand this December). Now that the PPP VCD series have quite "discontinued" since they no longer ship to Signapore, I bet there's a lot of people out there already choreographing new dancesteps for various songs, be it old ones or new. Shall we gather and show each other our creativity?
No limits, no rules (yet), so don't stop your creative juices and your Para Para talent. What I recommend is at least a pair of dancers, just like in PPPs, to bring out the beauty of syncronization. Teams can (highly recommended) perform their new dance with Special Performance effects. The bottom line is, there's no limit to the use of your creativity. Just bear in mind the theme is personalised choreography of various Eurobeat songs. I'm personally thinking about Beat of the Rising Sun already.
NoS could use this time to do some documentation. By the way I still intend to promote using your SPPV to various dancing societies, esp. those in schools. Just waiting for the right moment (and for my exams to end). I depend on your resources 'cause I intend to promote Local Para Para using the idea of how Para Para has progressed, from PPPs to SPPV to our own dancesteps.
Lastly, I wish to rope you all in to discuss about the future. Yes we may be leaving, but as much as we appreciate how vital our role were, we'd like Para Para to move on. Teams are teams (by the way congrats to ZeroXl on forming ParaDX), but no matter who you are, whatever you do, please don't try this at home i mean, you are still one core group representing the local Para Para scene. You get the idea. We'll discuss more later. Further details to come.
Sorry for not discussing with you KC, didn't want to disrupt your studies. Get back to me ASAP whenever available.

SQ, perhaps if you're going to do it among schools, let me know I'll go do with you =XXXX
I know most people know by now that SPPV2 is in the process (going along fine, I love the choreographed works by EP/OPX, they look great!)
I look forward to your event SQ, let me know 'bout it. Maybe i can help you out.
