I cant say if i am offically back into the scene, i been doing too much online gaming.. but i been thinking about it.. how to bring Para back to singapore and make it alive again.. just as it was before..
I only can think of one source that we could start from. The source that has always been there. The source that made us knew what was 'Para Dancing'..
Arcades
Everytime i go to the arcade now, i see gals on the para machine. Yes, Girls! They are doing what i did when i didnt know what was para dancing. They were freestyling.. hitting the arrows in their own stylish way. After hiding and laughing at them behind a machine, i stepped up towards the machine and inserted my $1 coin. And started playing the song SpeedWay .. its the most nicest and complex dance i learnt, In the Para way. In my heart, i knew i did the right thing. I was promoting Para to the public. To promote it for our cause.
I urge all paralist to do the same, and not to dance freestyle on the machine. Its such a simple way to promote our dance, yet ..
I believe we could start it all over again by dancing on the machines, encouraging the others to do the same and to buy the PPP series.
Other Ways Performing Distributing Para Dances on CDs to Public Encouraging ex Paralist to come back to the scene Put up a website with a database of Para Groups in SG website containing info on para with songs/videos to download
I believe everyone have ideas on how to kick start this Para Boom again~ ! kindly post your ideas here and how we should carry it out.

www.avexnet.or.jp/eurobeat/cospara/Apparently the Japanese are trying to incorporate Cosplay into Para Para... I personally don't really have any special liking towards Cosplaying, but if we can get the Cosplaying population to try to develop a liking towards Para Para then all's not lost yet, really.

It's good seeing ex paralists coming back into trhe scene to help promote the dance...however one reminder...in ur effort to promote para, dun forget para is para, para is a unique dance...perserve the integrity of para, i dun wan to see para becoming like hip hop or break dance or eurobeat become like disco dance tracks...then there's no point in promoting it

woah ...
so who's still alive here? maybe whoever's still active could come together and do something, be it to revive para para or just share the same interest.
i admit despite being old para para still circulates somewhere within my veins. but hey, we've been there, done that, and live to share it with grandkids to come. if i want to do some para dancin i'd probably go bug kc, and besides, there's mambo nite.
bottom line, why don't someone start gettin whoever's left and do something, nothing fanciful. beats sitting around waiting.
cheers~

if i am correct in my mind ... i remember a long time ago para competition was held on tv in s'pore showing local competitors ... it was on one of the jack neo variety shows ... if we could get an appointment with him propose a proposal to him to help support and get para in his show thru weekly lesson like showbiz shown on channel u everyday where they teach break dancing steps in stages ...
maybe we can achieve the same ... also we can perform at the youth park in orchard and other areas to start sparking off the chain ... but onoe factor is opposing us ... ithink we all know it ... its $$$ .. who will sponser us ?? we could follow what y-hope church of youth does to ask for donations weekly from their members voluntarily ... this may sustain our costs ... wat do you guys tink ... ?

The bottomline is that everyone out there thinks Para Para is out-of-fashion nowadays so nobody would even consider having something like that as part of their programme.
The only way, IMHO, is that we just keep on doing what we have been doing, and hope that one fine day some people will take interest in us and do us a favour.

out of fashion i don tink so if you go bugis the virtual lan or plaza sing the star factory ... go there now and you still see people playing para freestyle though i don dare play para in such places cos i got 'suan' once b'cos i was playing para bt i don mind secondly we could meet up first why not have a para calender of events see when you want our meet up and events then organise a para committe to see how to start the ball rolling and this that then start getting suggestions after that is done ... we can get the para para grps in different areas in s'pore to start the events then once all the events are finished we have a centralised event in downtown... once that is achieved ... we must form a club to start taking in members and starts lessons before that we must pool our money together to rent a dance studio for practices then we can use special occasions like valetine's day and other sch hols to start give out our calender of events to the public and remind them as each event is approaching in the area every thing must work like clockwork then and have paraluke be the chairman to organise all the only there will be no events will be the exam periods ......... thats all any suggestions and comments can call or msg me at 91281979.......

out of fashion i don tink so Believe me... to a lot of people, Para Para is out-of-fashion. You try telling some of those people out there that you are still paraing, the response is most likely going to be "What? You are still paraing?". People playing on the machine are just playing. Playing is different from dancing. For those who have been around long enough would know that how difficult it is to get people to support Para Para even when it was an in thing. Now that it's no longer an in thing, it's just going toget harder. So I still remain my stand. It's difficult to be trying to do so much when we don't have the resources. What we can do is keep on doing what we have been doing all along, and hopefully someone would take an interest of us. Of course that sounds rather passive, but what to do when nobody is interested in us now. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but we just have to be practical. The ideas suggested may seem fine, but if you have been in constant contact with the real working world you'd know how hard it is. What I feel is more important nowadays is just that whoever remains in the scene, remains in the scene. The local para para community is too small to endure any more huge impacts, be it positive or negative.

Why don't try org a competition? Its not hard but it does take up a lot of time on the host's side. There are some PPP competition FAQs around on the internet, maybe a round of competition mite boost the interest back in the public? I myself am trying to org a competition with DDR as well, dragging Timezone into the idea, but they are also interested in co-hosting it with a PPP competition which I do not have the expertise on.
